Guide to reflash Z64 Android BIOS, Z64 Factory Firmware, and Root Z64A.
Pre-requisites:
S1-1. Download Z64A Image Bundle includes:
- Z64A BIOS (UEFI 64-BIT)
- Z64A Factory Firmware (v20150307) and Updates (v20150903)
- Root Z64A

Note: Extract using 7-Zip
S1-2. Requires USB Disk at least 2GB and format with FAT32 filesystem
S1-3. Extract Z64A Image Bundle to USB Disk.
Flashing Z64A BIOS
Latest Z64A BIOS: v1.42 (UEFI 64-BIT)
If your BIOS is the latest Android Version, you can skip this step.
You must flash Z64A BIOS to run Android:
S2-1. Plug USB Disk, enter BIOS by pressing F11 or DEL key during startup
S2-2. In BIOS, Navigate to Save & Exit, select Boot Override UEFI: Built-in EFI Shell
S2-2. In UEFI Shell, Press ESC to cancel auto execute startup.nsh
S2-3. In UEFI Shell, execute the following command:
shell>blk1:
blk1:>cd BIOS-W2A
blk1:>startup.nsh
S2-4. BIOS flashing will start and do not interrupt or power off the device as failed flash BIOS will cause brick.
S2-5. Reboot device
Flash Z64A Android Firmware
S3-1. Plug USB Disk, enter BIOS by pressing F11 or DEL key during startup
S3-2. In BIOS, Navigate to Save & Exit, select Boot Override UEFI: Built-in EFI Shell
S3-3. Z64A will start flashing factory firmware v20150307
S3-4. Do not interrupt the firmware flashing and it will auto reboot once flashing is completed.
S3-5. Run Minix System Update App, Select Local to update firmware to v20150907
S3-5. Z64A will reboot and update will start
Root Z64A
S4-1. On Minix Z64A, enable LAN and record IPv4 Address
S4-2. Enable USB Debugging
S4-3. Plug USB Disk to Windows PC and change directory to USB:\Root-Z64A
S4-4. Run root_z64.bat
S4-5. Enter IP Address and follow the instruction.
S4-6. Once completed, if your device does not automatically reboot, reboot manually
S4-7. SuperSU should appear
S4-8. Install Root Checker or Root-Enabled app to test.
